For over 30 years, Husqvarna has been leading the robotic mowing industry, and 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates to the Automower lineup yet.

Two completely new product families are arriving in Australia in the coming months, bringing major improvements in wire-free mowing, AI navigation, grass handling performance, and smarter zone management.

Introducing the New Automower Vision Series

Designed for suburban homeowners, the new Vision Series focuses on simplicity, intelligence, and true wire-free mowing straight out of the box.

Best suited for: lawns from approximately 600m² to 1,200m².

Key Features

AI Vision Technology

The mower combines satellite positioning with AI camera vision technology. This helps it continue mowing when satellite visibility becomes temporarily obstructed, such as near trees, fences, or narrow side paths.

AI Object Detection and Avoidance

Using its onboard camera system, the mower can recognise and avoid common objects left on the lawn during daylight operation.

Wire-Free Installation

The EPOS module is built directly into the mower, meaning these robots are capable of wire-free mowing without additional hardware modules.

Flexible Virtual Boundaries

Create custom mowing zones, temporary stay-out areas, schedules, and mowing patterns directly through the Automower Connect app.

The new iQ Series is aimed at larger residential properties and landowners looking for high-performance wire-free mowing with improved grass handling capabilities.

Best suited for: properties from approximately 2,000m² to 8,000m².

Key Features

New All-Cut System

One of the biggest updates in the new iQ range is the All-Cut cutting system, designed to better handle a wide variety of grass types commonly found in Australia, including:

  • Kikuyu
  • Buffalo
  • Couch
  • Other warm-season grasses

The system supports cutting heights from 20mm to 100mm depending on the model.

Wire-Free Out of the Box

All iQ models include built-in EPOS technology and an RS1 Reference Station, meaning the mower is ready for wire-free installation immediately.

Advanced Zone Management

The iQ Series is well suited for large or complex properties with multiple mowing zones, different mowing schedules, pattern mowing, and temporary exclusion areas.

435 AWD iQ

The 435 AWD iQ replaces the previous 435X AWD NERA naming structure while keeping its impressive slope capability. It can handle slopes up to 70% or 35 degrees, making it suitable for steep or challenging terrain.

New Cloud-Based EPOS Service

Another major development is Husqvarna’s new cloud-based EPOS correction service.

Previously, wire-free mowing usually required a local reference station. The new cloud service can deliver centimetre-level positioning corrections via mobile network or the customer’s existing home Wi-Fi.

This could eliminate the need for a physical reference station on suitable properties with strong coverage across the mowing area.

For properties with poor signal coverage, traditional reference stations will still remain fully supported.
