Match the mower to the part of the course

Husqvarna offers Automower solutions for smaller or more complex golf areas and CEORA for larger-area mowing. The right approach may be a single machine, several separately managed areas or a staged installation. We assess the proposed work before selecting equipment.

For sloping areas, consider an appropriate all-wheel drive option where it fits the site. Traction, wet ground, turning space and safe clearance from bunkers or water matter alongside the slope itself. Taking suitable routine mowing off the team's daily run can release time for bunker work, irrigation checks, turf repairs and course presentation. The superintendent retains control of turf standards and decides where robotics fits alongside existing machinery.

We provide mapping, installation, commissioning and handover training, with local servicing and technical support. What we assess with your superintendent

A course plan, current mowing routine and typical competition schedule provide a useful starting point. Walk the proposed areas with the people who maintain and manage them.

  • Turf standards: required cutting height, species, seasonal growth, mowing frequency and presentation.
  • Available time: tee times, competitions, practice activity, irrigation and other maintenance work.
  • Practical output: area to complete within that window, including charging, travel and interruptions.
  • Ground conditions: slopes, traction, wet areas, bunker margins, water, paths and crossings.
  • Installation: satellite reception, connectivity, charging power, transport routes and service access.
  • Day-to-day operation: golf balls, debris, temporary exclusions, staff checks and backup equipment.

Start with a defined area and a clear review

  1. Agree the benchmark

    Choose a suitable starting area. Record the current finish, mowing hours and labour, then agree what the superintendent needs to see.

  2. Install and hand over

    Confirm equipment and scope, map the work areas, test the routes and train the nominated operators. Agree any demonstration or trial separately.

  3. Review before extending

    Check cut quality, completion within the mowing window, turf marking and staff interventions. Use those results to decide whether to expand or adjust the approach.

Build the business case around your course

Include equipment, installation, charging infrastructure, connectivity where required, blades, servicing and remaining staff time. Allow for travel, call-outs and a workable backup plan. Consider separate machines for different areas where moving one mower would create extra work.

Distinguish time reassigned to other course tasks from expenditure the club can actually reduce. A staged approach lets the club assess the operational result before committing to a wider rollout.

Questions from golf clubs and greenkeepers

Can robotic mowers replace our putting-green mowers?

This proposal focuses on suitable fairways, semi-rough, rough and presentation lawns. It is not a replacement plan for specialist putting-green mowing. Your superintendent sets the turf requirements and approves the result for each area.

Can mowing be scheduled around play and irrigation?

Yes, scheduling forms part of the operating plan. We assess when each area is available and whether the proposed equipment can complete the work in that time. Any overnight operation also needs appropriate site checks and a response plan.

What happens around golf balls, bunkers and water?

Plan exclusions, clearances and a routine for checking the area. Object-detection capabilities depend on the model and fitted equipment. We confirm those separately; do not assume every mower will recognise every ball, marker or obstacle.

Do we need to convert the whole course?

No. Start with selected areas and retain existing equipment for other tasks and backup. Review the mowing result and the workload left with your team before deciding whether a larger installation makes sense.

What support is included after installation?

The proposal sets out commissioning, operator training and any agreed follow-up. Local servicing and diagnostics are available, with scope, access and costs agreed. We also discuss routine checks and the club's plan for interruptions.
