Robotic mowing can take on suitable routine lawn areas while your team retains responsibility for edges, flowers, litter and detailed care around memorials. Narrow gaps, raised surrounds and delicate features may remain manual tasks.

What we check on site

Walk the proposed areas with the grounds supervisor and the person coordinating services. A site plan and current mowing routine are useful starting points.

  • Layout: memorial spacing, lawn plaques, raised kerbs, beds, benches and areas needing manual finishing.
  • Access: visitor routes, service vehicles, gates and crossings that may need separate arrangements.
  • Ground: slopes, wet patches, roots, uneven or recently disturbed ground and turning space.
  • Installation: satellite reception, tree cover, connectivity, charging power and maintenance access.
  • Workload: usable mowing hours around ceremonies, irrigation, seasonal growth and charging.
  • Daily changes: flowers, temporary markers, new works, excluded areas and responsibility for restart checks.

Introduce it one suitable area at a time

  1. Define the scope

    Choose an initial lawn and agree the finish required, exclusions and remaining manual work. Discuss any demonstration or trial separately.

Questions from cemetery and grounds teams

Can a robot mow between every headstone?

Not necessarily. Clearance, turning room, surface levels and memorial details all affect suitability. We identify workable areas on site and agree where manual mowing or trimming remains. Do not assume every lawn plaque can be driven over.

Can we stop mowing for a funeral or memorial service?

Yes. The handover includes how nominated staff park the selected mower and adjust its schedule. Agree a clear process for short-notice changes, including checks before restart. This is not an automatic link to your bookings calendar.

What about flowers, ornaments and temporary works?

Staff need a routine for checking and protecting these areas. On a suitable EPOS installation, mapped stay-out zones can help manage changing work areas. They do not replace physical site controls or checks, and the mower should not be assumed to recognise every object.

Will it work under trees or on uneven ground?

That needs assessment. Satellite reception, roots, ground condition, traction and access can limit the options. We check the proposed installation method and select equipment accordingly, rather than relying only on total lawn area.

Can our existing contractor keep maintaining the grounds?

Yes. We can plan installation and training around your own team or contractor. Agree who handles checks, trimming, schedule changes and service requests, along with the scope and cost of ongoing support.
