Barossa Valley Estate
An upgrade from boundary wires to EPOS
Two Husqvarna Automower 550 EPOS units replaced the estate's wired mowing setup. The project included new charging stations, a reference station, mapping both lawn zones and testing the installation. Robotic Mowing completed the installation in collaboration with Valley Power Equipment, which supplied the robots.

A Husqvarna Automower 550 EPOS was installed for approximately 4,500 m² of lawn. The previous routine involved weekly mowing and clearing grass clippings. The installation included a reference station positioned near the wine storage tanks and mapped areas extending towards Picker's Hut.

The right system depends on what can be mown between tastings, functions, irrigation and other grounds work. We assess practical mowing capacity, including charging and travel between areas, before recommending equipment.

Show your team or contractor how to park the mower, adjust schedules and respond when something needs attention. Agree who checks the lawn before mowing resumes after an event.
Make the numbers work for your property
Compare the full installed cost with your current mowing arrangements, including servicing, blades, electricity, connectivity where needed, routine checks and remaining manual work. Edging, debris removal and other grounds tasks still need to be planned.
Time available for gardens, irrigation or guest areas has value, but it becomes a cash saving only where spending actually reduces. We can help you work through that distinction and agree practical service arrangements for your location.

Can mowing be scheduled around tastings and events?
Yes. We plan operating windows around how the lawns are used. Event layouts, temporary furniture and pedestrian routes need to be considered, with someone responsible for checking and clearing the area before mowing resumes.
Can we start with one lawn?
Yes. One suitable lawn can be a practical starting point. We assess its charging location, access and workload, then consider whether the setup could be expanded later.
Does this include mowing between vine rows?
This service focuses on maintained lawns around cellar doors and other visitor areas. Vineyard inter-row mowing is a different application and would need a separate assessment of the ground, vegetation and operating conditions.
Can you work with our existing grounds contractor?
Yes. The system can be planned around your existing team or contractor. Responsibilities for checks, cleaning, blades, edging and service should be clear from the start.
What happens if the mower needs attention?
We provide diagnostics, servicing and genuine parts support. Before installation, we discuss routine checks, who will respond on site and a plan for mowing during interruptions. Service arrangements depend on the property's location and requirements.
