Husqvarna Automower Installation at Shottesbrooke Vineyards
Another great project – installation of a Husqvarna Automower at the stunning cellar door of Shottesbrooke Vineyards.
The site has a large lawn area of around 4,500 m², which previously required several hours of mowing each week by the maintenance team, followed by the cleanup of grass clippings, as a zero-turn mower without a catcher was used.
After reviewing suitable options, the decision was made to go with the Automower 550 EPOS – a time-tested, top-of-the-line model designed to handle areas up to 10,000 m² over a 48-hour cycle. The mower offers a robust feature set, including:
- Husqvarna Fleet Services™ for remote management
- 4G connectivity
- Ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection
- Electronic cutting height adjustment
- EPOS satellite navigation, allowing for a completely wire-free installation
The reference station was installed at a high point near the wine storage tanks to maximise signal coverage - including more remote lawn areas near Picker’s Hut.
One of the biggest benefits of EPOS is the ability to use Systematic Mowing - enabling efficient and visually appealing mowing patterns such as straight lines, checkerboard or diamond styles.
The lawn now looks perfectly trimmed at all times, enhancing the presentation of the cellar door, while the team can focus their time on more important tasks around the property.
